The Rockhampton City Brass Band has hosted the first ABODA Qld (Australian Band and Orchestra Directors Association, Queensland) Rockhampton Hub conducting workshop.
A number of aspiring conductors from various organisations gathered at the band hall to take part in the event, with instruction being given by Lewes Peddell.

It is with much regret that the band advises the passing of Life Member, Mr Ron Munns.
Ron was a talented musician who played bass with the band. He passed away at the age of 82.

The evening of Friday November 27 2009 was filled with brass music, as the band performed its annual Brass in the Cathedral concert at St Josephs Cathedral.
An audience of over 100 people were entertained by the band, soloists and an ensemble, with almost $300 being raised for the cathedral renovation appeal.

The band will be holding its annual Brass in the Cathedral concert on Friday November 27, 2009.
The venue is St Josephs Cathedral in Allenstown, commencing at 7.00pm. Entry is by a gold coin donation, which will go towards the cathedral renovation.

Our players again marched in the 2009 Anzac Day Parade through the streets of Rockhampton. The band was in the past the band of the 42nd Battalion, and we are proud to continue our tradition of participating in this day of commemoration.

The band attended the Rockhampton Railway Station in mid April to play for the arrival of the commemorative Q150 steam train, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the state of Queensland. A large crowd enjoyed the music and the atmosphere.
