Anzac Day 2009

Our players again marched in the 2009 Anzac Day Parade through the streets of Rockhampton. The band was in the past the band of the 42nd Battalion, and we are proud to continue our tradition of participating in this day of commemoration.

The band attended the Rockhampton Railway Station in mid April to play for the arrival of the commemorative Q150 steam train, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the state of Queensland. A large crowd enjoyed the music and the atmosphere.

Over a number of years, we have held regular Christmas concerts in St. Josephs Cathedral in Rockhampton. In 2008, we again played to an appreciative audience gathered in this beautiful building.

The Rockhampton City Brass Band again travelled to Maryborough to participate in the Best of Brass Competition. Although we didn’t win the competition, the band performed to a high standard. Our drum major, Len Sinnot, came away with the Champion Drum Major trophy. A great weekend was had by all.
